Winter Immunity: How To Make Gajar Ki Kanji To Boost Immunity

Winters are in full swing. While we all love the nip in the weather, the season brings a variety of diseases along with the cold waves. Kanji, for instance, is a traditional fermented drink that is known to do wonders for our overall health. It is made with water, black carrots, beetroot, mustard seeds and hing. While most of us associate kanji with Holi, it also makes for a popular health drink during the winters. This gajar ki kanji is not only super healthy but tastes delicious.

Kanji is a nutritious and healthy North Indian drink. According to experts, kanji is enriched with probiotics that help promote immunity, gut-health, boost skin-health and more. Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A, making it an ideal drink to boost immunity during the winter season.

Gajar Ki Kanji Recipe: How To Make Gajar Ki Kanji

To make this kanji, first, boil three cups of water. Add carrots and let it come to a boil.  Let it cool. Do not drain. Add salt and mustard seeds powder to the pot. Mix well. Transfer everything to a bottle. Cover it up nicely and keep it in the sun for 2-3 days. Remove the cover, transfer the drink to a glass, add some fermented carrots on top for garnish and serve.
